| Lahore | details needed please Posted: Wed April 11, 2007 04:57 PM UTC
I am visiting Lahore in August. A friend has recommended the Indus Hotel on Mall Road. I'd be grateful for contact details for the place - telephone, address, e mail etc. Also any comments about it would be appreciated.
Thanks |

The indus hotel is a neat hotel with a good location on the Mall
The contact is Hotel Indus Phone: 92-42-6302858 to 60. However I would suggest that if you are staying for a short time in Lahore, it would be better to stay in Avari Hotel or Holiday Inn (also on The Mall Road). http://www.avari.com/avarilahore/accomod.htm and Holiday Inn (www.holidayinn.com) 25/26 EGERTON ROAD LAHORE, 54000 PAKISTAN Hotel Front Desk: 92-42-6310077 | Hotel Fax: 92-42-6314515 These are little expensive but more comfortable and with a better access to most of the city attractions. Enjoy your stay in Lahore

The Avari and Pearl Continental on the Mall are very nice hotels but too expensive. And if you don't know anyone in Lahore you will be overpriced. I was told that it will cost 7000 rupee pr. night. Ca. €90. I haven't stayed at the Indus but I was there once and didn't like the atmosphere. Gloomy and dark with cramped rooms. And the Mall is too noisy for my liking. But for a first time visitor it could be nice. I would like to recommend the Windmill Hotel. It on a street intersecting M.M. Alam Road. I don't remember the name of the street. It's a pretty new place and the rooms are pretty nice. I managed to haggle the price to 3000 rupee for a double for me and my buddy. Ca. €40 for a 3* I guess. The room service sucks but there are at least 20 nice restaurants on M.M. Alam Road. The people were very nice. Had a problem with the A.C. and a repair man came in less then 30 min. When he couldn't do anything they gave us another room.
