Hello everybody!
Lets see if this time I am moreeap lucky with the question.
Well, I arrived in Damascus a few days ago, I started my job here and everything, but now I am looking for Arabic lessons. DO you know any cheap language academy in which I can enroll until the beginning of June?
THANKS!

hi,

I found very interesting option for studying Arabic in Damascus university, Language Institute, Arab language Center. One month course, 80hrs costs appr £160. Not bad, i think. If you are interested, the website is www.arabicindamascus.edu.sy, there are timetable and basic requirements. Or you can write inquiries@arabicindamascus.edu.sy or phone ms. Israa Almasri: tel: +963 11 33925843
If you would like to enroll in course starting in April, you should hurry up. There is registration period from 8-18 April, course will take place 23 Apr to 22 May.
There are more information available in www.ou.edu/ssa/general-info.htm
I don't know more, I intend to come in Damascus in mid-May to attend the course starting in June.
I think we were in touch before but anyway, can you help me as well. I am looking for job during my studies there. Any advice you can give me? My e-mail is tiina157@yahoo.co.uk

Hope it was some help and I appreciate any help you can provide. If you need anything I am more than happy to help you, as much I can

Thanks,
Tiina

Hey thank you very much for the various replies!
Well...I have contacted all these centers, except the Nour centre, and they give lessons only in the mornings!!!
Yes...nothing in the afternoons for people who are working...unfortunately!
So I have already found an Arabic teacher and I will start with her this Saturday
THANKS A LOT ANYWAYSSS!

Hi,

Just seen your emails on the virtual tourist site. I'm planning on learning Arabic in Damascus too, but on a very tight budget as am travelling through the Middle East and going to be away from home for a long time! I don't really want to go through the university as the courses aren't that tailored and are expensive. Please can you let me know how much your tutor charges per hour.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Rosie
