Oi Shane,

Caxias do Sul is a great place to spend some time! It is in the center of many smaller towns like Bento Goncalves, Santa Maria do Sul, Gramado, etc. Many Italian, German, and Polish immigrants arrived here in the late-1800/early 1900's....you will find many good hotels, a lot of great places to eat. The people are, like most places in Brasil, very open and friendly. In the center of Caxias you will find a good Tourist Information office that will give you a lot of local help. I will contact a friend there to ask about language classes....if you want, send me a message, and I'll try to give you more "nut and bolts" about traveling to Caxias. (I'll be there at the end of April.) Boa viagem!
