Skopje Travel to and from Skopje
Posted: Tue April 10, 2007 06:45 AM UTC
I'd like to visit Skopje from London but flights tend to be expensive - is there anywhere I can fly to instead ie. somewhere that a budget airline flies and then get a train to Skopje from there?

Also what are the options for going to Athens from Skopje by train? Is this safe for a lone woman or two lone women?

Any information would be much appreciated. If anyone can also help me get tickets for a show I plan to go to that would be even better, and feel free to mail me thru the site..

You can fly to Athens from London - see easyJet web page for this. Especially since you mention visiting Athens on the same trip. Another option is flying into Sofia with, say, Wizzair.

I think that Salonica and Sofia are best options at the moment.
Train from Salonica is pretty cheap and you do not have to worry,it is safe absolutely.
If you choose to go through Sofia, there is no railway connection, so you have to take a bus.

Have you looked into going via Budapest with Malev. They have some deal to Budapest and then it should not be too expensive to get the next flight to Skopje.
