I know that Sao Paulo may not be as big of a futbol city as Rio de Janeiro, but can some give tips on watching a game in Sao Paulo? Is there a wild/fun following for the local team?
Thanks, nwadair |

You are wrong about that,
I am not a huge soccer fan, but I have been exposed to soccer in both Rio and Sao Paulo.....Rio may have more international attention, but if I am not mistaken, Sao paulo has a lot more teams and the fans aren't left behind either.... I used to live near Pacaembu Stadium......actually if you are going to a game in Sao Paulo I recommend paceaembu stadium as it is in a safer area. You can buy tickets at the stadium itself, but if it is a big game buy in advance.

Dear "SãoPaulo Dude",
No, I´m not wrong about that...for sure! "Rio may have more international attention" -I´m sure Rio´s matchs have more foreigners watching becuse of plenty number of tourists there, but this doesn´t make Rio´s football better or bigger than São Paulo´s one. Rio was bigger till the early 80´s, but after that, São Paulo is without any doubt the biggest, the better and the wealthiest football hub of Brazil. Cheers, Henry.

Hello!
Soccer games in Sao Paulo are better than Rio nowadays. Check the teams information at http://www.futebolpaulista.com.br/ and buy tickets at http://www.ingressofacil.com.br/futebol.asp. You may choose diverses championships as regional 1st and 2nd division(Paulista), Continental (Libertadores da America), National (Copa do Brasil e Brasileirao). Have fun!
