Hi, I'm planning being part of the solution to the world's AIDS crisis, therefore have ideas to engage in some research/ do some clinical work in lusaka, zambia. It would be nice to meet some individuals in Zambia. Is anyone planning on traveling to lusaka in the summer 2007. Also, can anyone provide me some information on 1 bedroom apartments in lusaka and how would i go about arranging this.. thanks a bunch

Hi there
I'm planning on travelling to zambia this summer, possibly next month (!) so would be great to get some more contacts. I'll let you know when I'll be there once I know a little bit more. Are you going as a single female? I'm currently looking at trying to go overland and by sea to save flying but not sure it's safe? Have travelled alot in south america, but there I speak the language...My email address is strongsteph@hotmail.com if you want to contact me.

Also, if anyone familar with zambia knows of any projects that need volunteers, ideally rural, that need a pair of willing hands to do practical stuff, like digging, gardening, reforestation, building, please let me know! Im looking for between may and august.

Thanks a bunch!

Steph

Zambia Working in Zambia, Southern Africa

Hi, Habari, Sawubona, Muli bwanji, Te ooyoo,

Wow Africa is most interesting!!
I been travelling around for a few months, getting to know some African children and teaching them English, how to protect themselves from Aids and a few other skills. They were fascinated by my long wavy Blonde hair and me playing with them and kicking their own-made plastic-bag football.

I was so encouraged by their hospitality and friendship, that I have a desire still to go back and invest in the lives of these children some more. I wonder which countries - Malawi, Zambia Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Ghana. What language will I focus on more and learn more fluently and enjoy the local talent: dancing, drumming, singing and food, especially their tropical fruits.

Will I get to carry children on my back with an African material, the children there always look after and carry their younger ones!

I suggest Kenya and the language spoken in several countries in that region- Swahili - easy to master, and really a chick language.
Good luck
