hello everyone,

I am going to syria for 10 days,and i want to go to damascus and lattakia,I know a bit from damascus,but I am really interesting to know more about lattakia,there's nice beaches?what about hotels like 3 or 4 star? i really appreciate your help.

hi there...well i have been around syria for a month as well been to lattakia, its not to bad there. the beaches are alright, there are some good ones but i have to say that lattakia was not the cleanes city i have seen, as well some beaches were very dirty. i did stay with some friends so i can't tell you much about the hotels but i have seen some good ones (4 stars) and they looked good from the outside...but don't expect to much. i had some nice chilled out days in lattakia...try to do a trip in to the mountains around.

I stayed at hotel Riviera - Sharia 14 Ramadan[ph: 421803]. It is a 3 star place but it was quite good.About a 10 minute wander into the centre of town.
Didn't see any beaches but visited Qala'at Salah Ad-Din [Saone]. Catch bus to Al Haffa [10Syrian Pounds]. Then I paid 200SP for a taxi to take me there & wait then back to Al Haffa. Entry fee to castle was 150SP.
