Targu-Mures Travel Forum

Hi all,
I am looking to fly into Tirgu Mures airport in June for a few days and was hoping to stay in Sighosoara or Sibiu. can someone please tell me how best to get to either of these towns from the airport? My flight out is at 6.55am so I will need to leave in the wee hours to get to the airport. Is there any public transport running throughout the night? If not, how much might it cost me for a taxi from Sighosoara to the airport?

There is a bus from the airport to downtown Targu Mures. From there to Sighisoara I think it's best to travel by bus (takes about 1 hour). To Sibiu you can go either by train (about 6 hours) or bus (a little over 4 hours).

As for the geting back to Targu Mures early in the morning you can do it either by train (with a change in Razboieni) and reach Targu Mures at 5.30 AM or by bus from Sighisoara to reach Targu Mures at 1.49 AM.

Although Sighisoara is just 50 km south of Targu Mures a taxi might get expensive (more specifically the taxi driver might try to rip you off).

the bus from targu mures city to sighisoara cost 7/8 lei 2-2.5 euro
and take 1-1.10 hours.

there is only 1/2 daily buss from targu mures to sibiu one dep' at 14:00 and arr' to sibiu at 18:18 and cost 13 lei 4 euro one way and another bus at 07:00
which are not 100% work for sure.

you have only 2 dayly slowly train at 03:48 and 16:11, I can say thet thos are the worst train who work in romania!

if I was you I consider to be in targu mures and not in sighisoara at the last night to avoid from take a taxi for 60 k"m or to travel by night with slow train!

the last time that I was in targu mures I been at SANDA PENSIUN
[PENSIUNEA SANDA and I pay 50 lei [15 euro] for room with toilet and shower.
the pension are 3 k"m from center targu mures and the host have a taxi so he can take you to airport too.
