how easy is it to walk around the area Grindlewald First. Noticed that somebody stated that the walk Grosse Scheidegg to First Marmot trail was closed wish to do this in the middle of may this year. Have got 1.2500 walking maps of area plus the printouts from the website states 1hr 45 mins is this realistic and how easy is it to follow the swiss footpaths

It really depends on how much snow is around. I was there 2nd week of June last year and some trails were still closed but people were hiking anyway. Don't trust the times on the signs - I spoke with several people who had the same experience I had - we hiked well past the time stated on the signs and never reached our destination. We joked that the signs were not for us wimpy types. I say this only because of safety - I know how fast I can hike and I was surprised. If you rely on the signs to determine how far you can go before turning around, you might be out a lot longer than you planned.
