can you get a flight from San pedro sula to La ceiba?
How long does it take? approximate cost? Would it be better then driving it? I'm not sure I want to take the bus. How long is the bus ride? and what does it cost from San Pedro Sula? |

Yes, you can get a flight from San pedro sula to La Ceiba. It is a 35 minute trip and costs approximately $62 US with tax, per person, one-way. You can book on-line at the Islena Airlines web site at http://www.flyislena.com/ By bus the trip is approximately three hours and with the Hedman Alas luxury line costs approximately $15. You will find their web site at http://www.hedmanalas.com/ Either is infinitely better than driving yourself unless you have made the drive before. Have fun! Yes, you can fly from San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba, no problem. Sosa, Atlantic Airlines and Islena all do the flight. There are about 8 flights a day. Fares range from $50 to $60 one way, depending the airline. My suggestion is FLY! Do NOT ride the buses (especially Hedman Alas bus!), and car driving is at best an iffy proposition. There are several road hazards, on the road from SPS to Ceiba. Including a pretty funky one-lane bridge just before Tela. Taxis are plentiful in La Ceiba airport and quite cheap. Pay the extra money and fly, you'll be glad you did.
Hope this helps! Tony
