While in Hannover a couple of weeks ago, we were taken to a "kitsch" restaurant that's located in a farmhouse from the 1600's, that's around 20 min. outside of the city. The special dinner involves a kind of show with involvement from all diners. They tie red checkered bibs on you and then roll potatoes onto the table. After that they choose a victim and shove a potatoe into his/her mouth that has been dipped into sour cream and bacon bits. They also pour shots of schnapps into your mouth and all food is eaten by hand off a cutting board. Part of the routine is that a couple is "married" and you have to beg for salt and sausage from the bride/groom.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please don't think I'm crazy. I really did go to this restaurant and would be happy to show you photos of this madness! Thanks! |
