| Rabat | Looking to learn Arabic and teach English Posted: Fri April 6, 2007 04:19 PM UTC
Hi I am going to be going to graduate school and prior to doing so I hope to go to Morocco and learn arabic. Unfortunately I don't have the money to live there an entire year so will be looking to teach English.
If anyone could provide information on the cost of living and the job situation, that would be extremely helpful. |

www.eslcafe.com, this is a better place to post this question and look at job offers, as job offers do occasionally come up in Morocco. The site has an international job board and forums. You won't be able to make a lot of money but as long as you don't have debts to worry about back home or don't intend to travel much outside of Morocco, you should be able to make enough to get by.

Wow! Thanks for the quick response. Do you by any chance have any information on the cost of an apartment in morocco or links that could show me. All I find are vacation rentals that seem too high. I would be looking for something for a student so it doesn't have to be fancy.

Apartment cost vary dramatically from city to city. But you should expect to pay a minimum of 3000dhs/month for your own apartment. I recently saw a room in a villa (a homestay situation) advertised for 1700dhs in Rabat.
Where are you planning to study? There is a new school offering courses in Rabat beginning September 2007. They cost half as much as the school in Fes. http://qalam.ma

we are a school offering language classes among others. We could probably exchange your teaching English to our Arabic classes. Send your CV to meherhunzai@gmail.com and will get back to you.
