Ephesus Travel Forum

We will be taking a tour offered by the cruise ship to Ephesus. The cost is $49 without the Terrace Houses and $99 with them. Is it worth it.

Is this price per person or for more than one or two people in your group???? Is this price just for the Ephesus tour and or does it also include other areas like the Virgin Mary's house, The Church of St.John the Baptist etc.

Just a word of advise the entrance fee to Ephesus is 10 Turkish Liras ( YTL ) per person and the the entrance fee to the Terrace house is also ans additional 10 YTL per person fee. In total then to visit the entire sight the cost per person and works out to 20.00 TRY = 14.6791 USD which I calculated here http://www.xe.com/ucc/

Does it include lunch or anything else??? Probably it does include a guide and a good guide can be expensive. One thing that will add to the cost of the trip. Also transportation to and from the sight to also consider. We travelled independantly by car this past Feb. And no we did not go into the Terrace houses on the hill. Our time was a bit limited. I do have some photos from our trip but and slowly working on more bit by bit.

sorry forgot to say that it does seem a bit much in the extra cost to visit the houses....almost double the price. Once you are there can you not visit then independantly ?? but I would guess that there is a schedule to keep as well and they probably do not allow for any extra time. you probably must keep to the group.

Hello - we are also going to see Kusadasi and Istanbul this September and did not make any reservation through Princess Cruise Line. We are planning to make reservations through EKOL Travel as one of our friends recommended them. I already contacted them and inquire about their tours in Kusadasi and Istanbul- charges are as follows-
Ephesus + Terrace Houses = $55 (US dollars)
Blue Mosque + Topkapi Palace + Grand Bazaar = $51 (US dollars)
