I'm off to Cape Verde soon and understand that I should take cash as there are not many banks!
Please could someone tell me which currency I am best to take. I guess Euros but would US Dollars be better? |

Hi,
just returned from Sal and some other islands. Take cash!! Best is Euro. In many places Euros are accepted. Mind the exchange rate. 1 Euro should be around 100 CV Escudos. Some calculate 1 Euro = 100 Escudos!!! On Sal we only had one restaurant (Americos: a good one, you should try) that accepts VISA. The HOTELS accept VISA and also change money (but only Euros to Escudo NOT Vice versa) thus calculate, what you need!! Have fun
