Parque Nacional del Iguazł Travel Forum

I am going to Buenos Aires in August with my boyfriend. It will be his first time visiting and I wanted to bring him to see the cataratas in iguazu. I have told him 800 times how amazing they are but am afraid that late August they might not be as impressive. Is it worth the money for us to go at this time of year? i dont think we will have an opportunity to again anytime soon but i am scared that if it is too dry he will be left with a bad impression and maybe not return. any suggestions?

By all means go, you just might want to check conditions there a bit closer to the time you visit. Check my travel page the park web site is listed there and that is one way to check. I have visited in August and September and both times it had been raining for several days and the flow was fantastic.

I was there in August 2000 and they were amazing! Even the weather, about 24ŗC.
But it doesn't always depend on the time of the year, sometimes it's just bad luck! If you can, book the trip once you're here so you can find out if they have enough water and if the water is clean, too! My parents went in March last year and the water was rather muddy because of some storms the previous week.
