Can anyone out there recommend a hotel close to the cricket ground in Galle? Happy to spend up to USD 120/ night. All suggestions much appreciated. Cheers.

Hi there,
The ground is between bus station and Fort. Closenberg and Sun House are two of the closest middle-class hotels there. Lighthouse is a bit further, around 3 km so 10-15 mins by tuktuk, but of better quality (4 star). Have fun, <Erik> & [Sandya]

Try hostelworl.com, very reasonable properties close to the stadium and inside Galle Fort. Also you can find good hotels inside the Galle Fort. I spent a gr8 vacation in Dec 2005.
