Hi,

Cumbaya is indeed a nice area. It is 10 minutes from Quito and during rush hour 20-25. It has a large hospital, various good schools, shopping malls, stores and most services that would be needed to live okay. There are beautiful houses in Cumbaya and Miravalle. I believe prices range from $600-$800 for a very nice house. I also know that it is quite peaceful. You would have to take in consideration where you are going to work, because the North of Quito is far away from Cumbaya at least an hour drive.
I live in Quito and I guess it all depends on what you like. There are some people that just won´t go to the valleys beacause they work in Quito or because they just like the city and find the valleys to be far away.
