Yellowstone National Park Traveling with trailer from Pa
Posted: Mon April 2, 2007 06:06 PM UTC
Hi, planning a trip to yellowstone this summer. I have a 30 ft travel trailer which is pulled by a Chevy pickup truck. Traveling from Pa should be an experience one that we should enjoy if all goes well. My main concern is the mountians that I might encounter on my way to yellowstone. Have never been west so anything outside of Pa is new to me. I would like to know what is the best route, not mearly the shortest but the one which I wont encounter those huge mountian ranges i would need to climb over. We have some mountians here in Pa but nothing as i have heard I might encounter in the west. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Ed and Estelle

I can't answer your question exactly....but have you looked into joining AAA? They offer the Triptik which maps out a route for you according to your requirements, road work you might encounter, seasonal traffic, gas needs, overnighing etc. If you join at a certain level 100 mile free towing is included which is ressuring for summer travel and overheating issues. I live in Colorad and the west is very different than the east in that you can travel HUGE distances without seeing anything but sage ....and that is not a bad thing but can be frustrating if your tank is low! Also, Yellowstone is fantastic and magical and should be one of the wonders of the world in my opinion! DT
