Hi all I am traveling to DR with 2 buddies in may this year and we were looking to stay at blackbeards but they are booked up. We are looking for a nice hotel or villa close to blackbeards. Can anyone tell me how close Sousa is to Puerto Plata. We will be driving so we can get around. We are not looking for the all inclusive because they restrict you. I have been to Puerto Plata 2 times and loved it. Thanks if you can give me any information.

I just came back from the DR, Loved it! WE stayed at the Coconut Palms, which is exactly half way between Cabarete and Sousa. Very nice. not very fancy, but very accomidating. Sousa is about a 20 min drive in very congested traffic sometimes to Puerto Plata. I dont recomend driving down there unless your use to it. If you want a nice place to stay, stay at the Coconut Palms. Thats half way between Cabarete and Sousa. Very nice place and very friendly people!
