I am planning visit colombo april 6th - April 9th. Will be staying all 3 days in colombo. is it safe to travel to colombo now after the fresh attacks from LTTE.If so please let me know what are the safe spots in colombo and what are places in colombo that i should avoid.

I can only echo the advice Sasanga has already given, I have been to Sri Lanka dozens of times, even when things were much worse than they are now and I have never felt threatened. It might be wise to keep away from political gatherings and military installations but that is the same in lots of countries these days. Do get out of the city if you get chance, it is a beautiful country.

Yes it is safe ,just as the other 2 replies have said.I was in Colombo all day today(and will be there again on Thursday) and everything was just as it always has been in all the years I have been coming here, even There is a lot a security especially around Government buildings, but that is a good thing. Sri Lanka needs all the foreign tourists it can get just now,enjoy your trip
