County Sligo Post Offices in Rural County Sligo
Posted: Thu March 29, 2007 04:27 PM UTC
I am a confused Yank whose wife has McGowan roots in the Barney area, near both Cloughboley and Ballyconnell, in something called Ballinfull. I understand that Barney is served by the Cloughboley PO. What exactly is "Barney"? A hamlet? A townland? A civil Parish? And what other POs serve the peninsula that consists of an area shown as Drumcliff on some maps (not the town or village of Drumcliff, which holds the remains of William B. Yeats)? And finally, what PO delivers the mail to Dunleavy's Market and to Ellen's Pub and to the immedaite area around the Carrigans cemetery? Help!!!!
