I've had more christmas's in Fuerteventura than I've had in England! I've never stayed in Caleta though so can't tell you about restaurants - We've always gone to a shop that sells roast chicken and taken one of those back to our accomodation. I like being there over christmas, the weather is warmer than home - though apart from xmas just gone the last few years before that the weather hasn't been fantastic. If you do get an off day weather wise hire a car and tour the island - there is more to see than you think, your kid's would love the sand dunes outside corralejo, my brother and I used to love rolling down them! Nothing really stops for Christmas - the majority of things are still open espcially in a big touristy town like Caleta.
