Death Valley National Park How to drive from Sequoia to Death Valley
Posted: Mon March 26, 2007 03:41 AM UTC
I will visit Sequoia next Apr and after that probably would drive south to Death Valley I'm considering this route based on the map:
drive in 99 south - 58 esst - 395 north - 190 East into death valley. Just wondering if this is possible in Winter around mid Apr and how long would be driving? Thx.

I am not sure how long it will take - probably around 4 hours. This is doable at any time of the year. A more scenic route might be to take 178 out of Bakersfield instead of 58 and head through Lake Isabella on your way to the east side. Then head north on 395 to Death Valley. I have traveled both routes to the east side and the 178 route will be prettier and shorter. Have fun - DV is gorgeous in the spring.
