The Glens group of courses are nice; they are all located in the North Myrtle Beach area; a separate city from Myrtle Beach. Actually 3 of the 4 are north of North Myrtle Beach not far from the NC line. They're 30-40 minute drives from the Yatchman in the best of traffic. The Yatchman was nice back in the 70's and 80's; I have no idea how it's been kept up since then. Personally I'd suggest a North Myrtle Beach condo for those courses; take a look at vrbo.com or vacationrentals.com in the North Myrtle Beach area.

I stay there every year. Most of the times I stay in September. I did go once in May which is fine if you don't mind motorcycles. 3 of the 4 weeks in May are bike weeks which make some people a little uneasy. As with all crowds most people are fine, but be prepared for the traffic.

I do like the Yatchsman (I own one week), it is clean and has all that you need for a short stay, but don't expect the Marriott.

I stayed at the Yatchsman in the 70's and 80's. 3 of the Glens courses are in North Myrtle Beach or north of it (the city is 4 miles north of Myrtle Beach at the closest points). One other Glens course is inland about the same distance from Myrtle or North Myrtle. I'd suggest Crescent Shores if you try these same courses again. They are very nice golf courses and the package is a good deal; I've played them all. Glen Dornoch, Heather Glen, Shaftesbury Glen and Possom Trot; all are in the North Myrtle area except Shaftesbury.

Stayed there in the 70's.Everbody did..If the walls could only talk.Just up the street is a Brand new Anderson Inn. They tore down the old one and built this new showplace in 2007. They were almost ready to open last Oct.2007 when we were last there. Dont know exactaly when they did? We usually stay at the Sea Dip next door or Court Capri next to that. Great rates..We are heading there either May 4th or 11th 2008...Depends on when the overcrowed Bike Weeks are .We want to miss them...Last year went at end of one and before the start of the other for a few days during the week.....From Sea Dip Go over a block and take a right on Kings Hwy.Then a left at ABC store to Boardwalk at the Beach and all kinds of stuff...More than you can do in a week,.Myrtle Beach Pelican Baseball field in that area. I like that end of MB. Section below the old now torn down Pavillion area has more crime and more cops about. Just be careful and take nothing for granted...Plenty to do just have fun.Motels can help with the golf and entertainment ..See ya then........
