Options available for travel to CEBU from Manila Posted: Sun March 25, 2007 05:46 AM UTC
What is the best way to get to Cebu from Manila?
How long will it take to get to Cebu from Manila?
Can you do a day trip there and return to Manila in the evening?
Thank you for your help.

The best way is to fly which only takes 55 mins. From Manila, the first flight to Cebu is 5 am, and the latest flight from Cebu back to Manila is 7:30 pm so it is entirely possible to spend the better part of the day in Cebu and be in Manila by bedtime.

if u do that as suggested, its great, its like you're a business traveller having a meeting in cebu for that day and return back to manila for dinner not to mention the waiting time u will waste in both airports .My suggestion is to stay at least one or two nights in cebu.

Flying in to Cebu in the morning as Stamporama suggested (0530) and flying home to Manila in the evening is doable. I think he was speaking of PAL flights? If you browse the Cebu Pacific website you'll see that you can get an even later flight out of Cebu(2240).

Thanks for the info.
How about ferry runs? Any available? Probably a good idea to spend a night or two while I am there and take a more scenic route.
Thanks

I did the Super Ferry once. It's 20+ hrs. at sea, a good way to decompress after the hectic sked on the island. Super Ferry sails to Manila almost daily. I have more details in my Cebu transportation tip.

well, it seems you have plenty of time, so why not do the cruise thing via superferry to cebu from manila, thats whooping 24 hours journey, and then fly when you come back? u can book online at www.superferry.com.ph. Its not a a cruise ship, its a passenger semi luxury ship, u can choose to be in luxury or on budget.

Hello
I have never thought of Cebu City as just a day trip!
Anyway, here are the websites for the best airlines:
http://www.philippineairlines.com/
http://www.cebupacificair.com/
I used to be a partner in a tourism business in Cebu City. If you are interested, you can use our former driver for a tour of Cebu City and Mactan Island. His name is Danny Noy and you can see Danny, his taxi and his contact details here:

I have travelled on Superferries between Cebu City and Manila. Superferry 12 is the best one, if it suits your schedule. Get yourself a suite room!!! I have a blog article about travelling by Superferry. It has links to the Superferry website and a free video of my trip on the Superferry 12 and Superferry 17. If you are interested, you can read it here:

I hope this helps!
