| Atlanta | Proximity of Amtrak to MARTA Posted: Sun March 25, 2007 02:57 AM UTC
How close is the Atlanta Amtrak station to the nearest MARTA station? And if it is not close, would ya'll recommend bus or taxi to get between the two?

If coming north on MARTA from the airport, exit at the Arts Center Station and take any bus northbound on Peachtree Street. The AMTRAK Station is on Peachtree Street - just north of the I-85 overpass. On a nice day, you could walk it from the Arts Center Station but, it's a bit of a hike and with bags... it might be a bit unpleasant.

Wouldn't recommend the bus necessarily if you have bags. Usually a taxi around that area, shouldn't be more than a few bucks. Agree Arts Center is the place to go. You could walk it, I've done worse, but on a hot day it would not be fun with bags.
