| Ko Lanta | advise for long beach Posted: Sat March 24, 2007 11:52 PM UTC
Hi all, I am planning a trip to ko lanta, possibly early december, or alternatively, mid February... any thoughts on the best time?(weather-wise)... also, has anyone stayed at Sayang Beach resort, nothern end of Long Beach?...it looks nice, but i cant seem to find a huge amount of info about it... After researching for a while, im thinking that Long beach is the best for my needs, mainly sunbaking and snorkelling, and nice food... not too busy. Also, seeing as Jetstar fly directly to Phuket, is the ferry across to Lanta the best option?. I have just returned from Phi Phi in March, and found the ferry to be a good way to travel... but to get to Lanta, am i going about it the wrong way?..Thank you in anticipation, Joey.

Where will you be flying from? Singapore? You can fly Tigerairways to Krabi and take a ferry (2hrs) from Aonang beach, shuttle bus to Aonang from Krabi airport is easily available. Flying to Phuket is another option, but personally think that Krabi would be more accessible.
I was there in the first week of November last year, rained the first evening, and it was sunshine for the next 3 days, guess dec is a good time and dec and jan is also the peak season. I stayed at Long Beach at Nakara Resort, nice resort, food wise, i think it's better to go to Ban Saladan for dinner, rather than at the resort. I didnt wander around long beach too much, there should be some good places for food and drinks. Have you tried looking up accom on sawadee.com / asiarooms.com /thaihotels.com ?? Just my 2 cents..
