Hi guys,

We are planning a trip around China in April, with Hangzhou as the last stop. We will arrive on the morning of 4/14 from Shanghai, and depart for Beijing at night the next day (aboard Z10 overnight, Sunday) to catch a noontime flight from Beijing to Korea.

How difficult would it be to buy 2 tickets (soft sleeper) upon my arrival in Hangzhou on Saturday 4/14? Should I be worried about a lack of available seats? How fully booked is the Z10 train usually?

As I have ever lived in hangzhou for about 1 year, my experience is that, usually, as there is only Z10 run between hangzhou and beijing, the ticket is very difficult to get, you have to buy in advance. In shanghai, train with the "Z" is allowed to buy in advance by 20days. I suggest, you'd better buy ticket of Z10 in shanghai railway station once you arrive in shanghai.

I am afraid you can not buy your Z10 ticket in Shanghai.

I will arrive in Beijing first, on 3/31. Should I (Would I be able to) buy Z10 tickets at Beijing station?

Of course you may buy your ticket in Beijing in advance.

What I mean is, can I buy tickets originating from Hangzhou to Beijing on Z10, not Beijing to Hangzhou, from Beijing station?

Also, can I buy any Z tickets from any station, regardless whether it leaves from Beijing or Beijing West?

I knew what you meant and you may purchase your ticket for Hangzhou-Beijing in Beijing.
Since Z trains make few stops during the trip, it's almost impossible to buy your ticket in other cities,let's say Jinan.
