| Myrtle Beach | First time visit in July Posted: Fri March 23, 2007 07:32 PM UTC
Is there any difference between the town of Myrtle beach and North Myrtle beach? I saw a post about the Purple lit resort the Crown Reef. I will check there but is there any others recommended to compare possibly same amentiies but lower cost?
Thanks |

Two different worlds, although all of the beaches are pretty nice. North Myrtle Beach is more laid-back and family-oriented; Myrtle Beach is noisier and appeals to a younger crowd. Myrtle Beach has the amusement park and tacky shops. When you get away from the beach areas and golf courses, though, it's all about the same - mile after mile of restaurants, hotels and motels, t-shirt shops, etc. Kind of like Pigeon Forge, Branson, etc.
