| Tangier | Granada to Fez Posted: Fri March 23, 2007 06:38 AM UTC
Just checking if there is enough time to catch a bus in Granada get to Tarifa or Algeciras get on Ferry to Tangier and take a train to Fez in a day.
Or should i stay a night in Algerciras or Tarifa or Tangier. From Fez should i go back the same way (going to Seville instead of Granada instead) or do you recommend the train down to Marrakech and ferry from there to Algerciras (is Fez a big enough experience of Morocco or is there other amazing things in Marrakech as well?) Thanks in advance for your replies. Cheers |

By getting an early start you should be able to do it, you have to your advantage that Morocco is two hours behind Spain as of this weekend.
Marrakesh is completely landlocked, so you'll be waiting a long time for the ferry. It is a very interesting city, but so is Seville, so it depends on what you want!

Yes i found the site i wanted for the bus from Granada to Algeciras - www.movelin.es. then the ferry www.directferries.co.uk/algeciras_tangier_ferry.htm and the train
http://www.triotours.com/_downloads/_docs/_pdf/ma- So yes 9.00am - 12.30pm bus 18.83Euro - 1.30pm - 2.00pm ferry 65.18Euro Train to Fez - 5.30pm - 10.45pm. Looking at this i think i might stay in Tangier for the night and just take a 11am - 4pm train the next day. Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech - it would be good to go to Fez then on to Marrakech then take the trip back to Tangier to take the ferry back. But the long train journeys do put me off - i also don't know what the costs are for all 3 trips - Tangier - Fez - Fez - Marrakech - Marrakech - Tangier. Do they have a 3 trip value deal. ;) No there is no ferry from Marrakech to Algeciras ;) i think i was thinking of Casablanca - but even then there isn't much in the way of ferrys from there either its mostly planes. They would probably get me to Madrid - but then i'll miss Seville.
