| Bolzano | Dolomite Hikes Posted: Thu March 22, 2007 08:58 PM UTC
I will return a rental car to Bolzano in late June 2007 and plan to hike to a refugio the next day. I arrive in Bolzano in the afternoon so I do not anticipate hiking the day of arrival. I would appreciate any suggestions on specific all-day trails to a rifugio and whether I should begin the hike in Bolzano (I assume not) or a nearby town. I am looking for moderate hikes that require no mountaineering gear other than a walking stick. Thanks!

Check out val-gardena.com , you will need to take a bus from Bolzano to Ortisei, which isn't far and there should be plenty of places to hike easily there. I wish I could go too. Planning to be in Venice late October, and it's all over then until the snow flies.
