Aha, that explains what you want. Goodness, go to any market. They are full of marvelous fresh vegetables, most grown organically. France is a great place for vegetarians if you don't mind fixing meals for yourself. Wandering through the markets is great tourist fun anyway. The vendors let you taste things and everyone is trying to convince you their produce is best. I love the markets!
Ask where the nearest street markets are. There should be different ones on different days. Also check the little epiceries (grocery stores) in your neighborhood. They always have great produce. If you eat cheese at all, you will be in heaven.
In small stores and at the market, ask for the items. Don't pick things up and squeeze them. The vendors will give you the very best they have so you really don't have to worry about the quality. Go early for best choice.
Their vegetables are fresh and ripe. They don't pick things days or weeks ahead and ship them across the country. It's wonderful. We love their vegetables.
