Day Hikes?

Does anyone know of a moderately difficult day hike in the Bolzano area? We like hiking small mountains, but won't have a lot of gear or time. We'll also need to take public transit to/from the trailhead. Any suggestions?

From Bolzano you can take a cablecar and get in 12 minutes to the Altopiano del Renon (in German: Ritten). From there there you have a choice of paths. You will find information and inspiring pictures in this website www.ritten.com
