| Ocho Rios | Cruise Ship Docking point/Dunns River Falls and Beach. Posted: Wed March 21, 2007 02:27 PM UTC
Hi Everyone I have a question. How hard is it to get from where the cruise ship docks to Dunn's River Falls? We want to see the falls but we dont want to pay 70 bucks for an excursion. We also want to go to a beach for families. Can any one suggest a good beach close to wear cruise ship docks. Thanks a ton,

Jenn, my guess is since thats a major attraction there would be buses that go from the ship to the Falls or even a taxi.

Thanks Glen. I am betting that is right. I just dont want to pay 70 bucks for each person and there are 3 of us going. To see something that a 10 buck cab fare would cover.

You will have to pay for an official guide if you want to walk the falls beware of bogus guides. Sorry I can't help with the transportation from the cruise ship to the falls the only time I went there I drove from Negril. I really wasn't that impressed it only kept me away from where I wanted to be, the beach.

not hard. walk though the parking lot from the ship and down the road to main street and you will most likely be talking to a taxi driver at that point. let him know where u wanna go and he will let you know how much. negotiate and in about 10-15 minutes youll be on the falls. bring your own water shoes or youll have to rent.

Was just in Ochie as the locals call it. Been 5 times in the last two years. The standard rate for a taxi to the falls is 30 usd for up to 4 people. This should be for both ways. And should always be negotiated before hand and always paid on the return trip. You should tell your driver what time you would like to be picked up and tip them upon how punctual they are.
