Parque Nacional do Iguaçu Visa for Paraguay & Argentina at border crossing
Posted: Wed March 21, 2007 05:47 AM UTC

I will be visiting Foz do Iguacu via the Brazilian side and want to enter into the Paraguayan side and Argentinian side. Is it possible to obtain on the spot visas at the border crossing? I wont be spending any other time in either country and do not have round trip flights out of either country as I will be returning to Brazil and continuing back to Sao Paulo.

Check older posts, not only here but also in the Iguazu pages in the Argentina section.

Going across the bridge into Ciudad del Este -- by bus, car, or foot -- passports are not even checked. You'd need a Paraguayan visa only if you wanted to go deeper into that country.

Passports are checked as you cross the bridge into Argentina, but you do not need a visa unless you're going beyond the Foz area.

If you are from EU countries, you dont need any visa for Paraguay. I'm sure that there is no problem for a day's visit neither in Foz nor in Ciudad del Este.

Visas for Paraguay if you are American citizen cost 65 USD, and you can get one in any Paraguayan consulate (you have one in both Foz and Pto. Iguazu). However, you can not get one at customs' offices.

Check http://realtravel.com/paraguay-attractions-d1619-6.html and my travel pages for things to do in Paraguay and Asuncion, the country's capital.

good luck!
