| Yellowstone National Park | Best Places to Stay Posted: Mon March 19, 2007 01:24 AM UTC
We are going to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in Aug. We have reservations at Jackson Lake Lodge. For Yellowstone we are starting at Mammoth and have reservations there. For the rest of the park visit we have to choose between Lake Yellowstone Hotel and the Old Faithful Inn - any advice?

They are both beautiful in their own way. My opinion is that Old Faithful is more crowded, and Lake Yellowstone is less hectic. Lake is a little closer to the wildlife in Hayden valley, whereas Old Faithful is a little closer to most of the thermal activity. Just some of my thoughts

We stayed at the Old Faithful Inn in 2001. It was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching Old Faithful errupt each morning. Even if you don't stay there, go inside and check it out. It is definitely somthing to see. Enjoy your trip!
