I am going to be travelling alone in 2 weeks to the Middle East. is it safe for an American to visit/stay in Doha/Qatar? any advice would be appreciated. (dress, etc.) Thank you.

yes! safe for american people to travel here in doha, Qatari is a good people acctually unless you do wrongly. So many american people here and must respect the rules and regulation of Qatar then they respect you also. the dress code here is not very strict.

Yes, it is safe here. Dress modestly and err on the side of caution. Women don't need to wear a veil or anything like that, but showing skin --whether you're a man or a woman-- will got you lots of unwanted attention. Ignore people who tell you that you can wear whatever you want. Dress to blend.

Thank you for your posts. I will defiinitely try to blend, and be respectful of the culture. i've been around Europe, and was accepted warmly for trying to speak the language, enjoy their food, and not stand out... Im looking forward to visiting Qatar.

Qatar is a Beautiful country. I just returned from my visit. I loved my stay in Doha, Qatar. My best travel overseas yet.
