| Pompeii | Pompeii to vesuvius Posted: Sun March 18, 2007 04:02 PM UTC
Hi there!
Does anyone know if there are busses that head to the Vesuvius trek from the pompeii ruins. We plan to conquor both these sights in one day out from Sorrento...Ruins early AM, then climb Vesuvius to the crater. Also, anyone reccommend a nice place to eat lunch close to the ruins that is not overly touristy? Thanks in advance, Jason |

We spent 7 hours walking around Pompeii and still did not see all of it, We went to Herculanium on another day and never had time to go up versuvious but i belive you go to herculanium ( Erculano) first and then catch the bus from there but while pompeii and herculanium are much better visited by yourself by going on the train i was told that the versuvious trek is better on an organised tour. As for restaraunts there are some nearby to pompeii but you can not come out and go back in and the one inside is terrible and expensive.
