Hi,
Take an IC-train from Pisa to La Spezia, then an R- or IR-train from La Spezia to Riomaggiore. A few direct connections a dayy exist between Pisa and Riomaggiore (by IR-train). Timetables can easily be found on http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e. (use "Pisa centrale" as start station) Note that you can also take direct trains from Roma to La Spezia if you do not want to stopover in Pisa. Regards, Bart

Excellent advice - not much more to add!
We did exactly this itinerary last September - there is absolutely no need for a car when visiting the Cinque Terre! You might want to have a look at my Cinque Terre overview at http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/309de/38/ Oh, how I would like to join you and go there again! Have fun!
