I had to squeal when I saw this question. I live in the far SE corner of Lakeville (about 4 blocks from Farmington). If there's any live music in Farmington it's coming from Cows. Downtown St. Paul is only about 25-30 minutes from Farmington and you can find lots of nice places there. It all depends on your music taste. Good Luck

hey Colleen, loved you clever reply and it helps me a bit with my question, caus I want to move to NM; was thinking of Farmington, but cow music is not my taste! lol. I was thinking of Farmington caus I want to live near enough to the navaho reservation there. So, now i have a question for you too. What's it like to live in St.Paul? How big is the city or town for example and what's life like there? Would appreciate any time you can take to answer.
