Hi everyone!

We're planning to spend five days in the Phoenix area around 4th of July...and I'm wondering what types of things we can do when it's 120 degrees outside?

Go Arizona Mills, great shopping, food and movie theatres.

Malls are actually a very good suggestion. Also check out Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Superstition Springs in Mesa, Chandler Fashion Square in Chandler and Paradise Valley Mall.
You can cool off in the Salt River as well a few miles east of town (north of Mesa on Power Road). There are also lots of good museums in town: the Heard Museum, Mesa Southwest, Arizona Science Center and the Phoenix Art Museum. Or you can hit a baseball (Diamondbacks) game. Usually pretty cheap during the week.

Also you can see the fireworks for the 4rd of July on the sides of the Salt River, in Tempe.

Stay indoors until the sun sets, There are many different malls to go to with movie theatres depending on where you are staying, there is Arizona Mills, Scottsdale Fashion Square (upscale shopping), and Chandler Fashion Square Mall. All have state of the art movie theatres. Arizona mills also has an IMAX theatre as well as a regular movie theatre.

There is a rock climbing indoor gym in the city as well.
Just searcy the name of the activity you like and add phoenix, arizona.. you will be surprised of how many indoor stuff they have.
