I will be traveling to Croatia from trieste around May 3rd, I'm going down the Istrian Penninsula. Should I take a bus or is there a train to Rovinj or Pula? Also, are there any special spots I should stop? Thanks, Garrett

Hi Garrett
Last year I took a bus from Koper, Slovenia to Trieste, and from Trieste to Rijeka, Croatia. The distances between the towns on the Istrian coast are not as great as the distances I travelled so I imagine you'll have no probs finding buses. I found Croatia to be an easy place to travel around, easy to find information at bus stations and tourist info centres and not much language problems at all. Pick up a Lonely Planet from your library if you don't want to buy one and look up some basic travel info in there. Have a fabulous trip, I loved my time there!

Thanks for the information. I'm sure it will help. I'm pretty good at traveling w/o knowing where I'm going {g}I'm going to try to get to Split, if it's not too long a bus/train trip. thanks again, garrett

Hi again! Sorry to pump you for info, but I guess that is what this site is for. Did you stop in Zagreb? I'm thinking about going there for a day or two, if I can find a bus or train that gets me there at a decent hour {the train from Trieste gets there at 4am!} Thanks for your help, Garrett
