Guam Guam Beaches polluted with Fecal bacteria?? Safe to swim?
Posted: Wed March 14, 2007 08:38 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I really need your help. I am planning my wedding in Guam.. and when I was doing that to see how great Guam beaches are... I saw many EPA, local news on fecal bacteria in Guam beaches. Is it true?? Is it safe to swim? snokel? dive?
It is soososos hard to believe, because the water looks so blue.
What are the best beaches to go for snokeling? what are the best dive site?
Is fishing good?
Many thanks for all your help!

Sorry to say I cannot answer your question. I can say you won't get much help from this forum. I posted a question about Guam late last year and never got a reply. However, I did contact the Guam representative in the US Congress and her assistant did reply and gave me some useful information. Your might try the same thing using the US House of Representatives home page.

Also, try contacting the Guam chamber of commerce. Much more helpful than this useless site.

Great place for a wedding. The tides and currents around guam move the water quite fast. I haven't seen or heard of fecal baceria problems, however drain runoff in set areas might.

Great to swim, dive and snorkle. Fishing is awesome!

Take care and congrats! Let me know how it went!
