Hi!! We're arriving in Bordrum from Istanbul. I'd highly appreciate it if any of you could answer a few queries about Club Dedeman Bordrum:
1) We will be arriving by an overnight bus. Does anyone know where the bus would drop us and how far would this resort be from the bus stand? Approximately how much would a taxi to the resort cost? 2) We're planning to stay at the resort for a week and we have self catering apartments. But we would like to explore the local cuisine. How far would we have to go to get to the popular restaurants in the area? Are there any good eating joints within walking distance? 3)Any day trips that we can take from Bodrum? What are the interesting sightseeing places that we can go to from the resort? Hope to hear from you soon and thanking each of you in advance :-) |

Hi Khatibs
1) We will be arriving by an overnight bus. Does anyone know where the bus would drop us and how far would this resort be from the bus stand? Dedeman bodrum is situated 40 km far from the airport and only 3 km far from the center of Bodrum .The bus will stop in the center .Taxi will charge you only the taximeter and the tarif can change from day to Night ( depends on your travelling time) 2) We're planning to stay at the resort for a week and we have self catering apartments. But we would like to explore the local cuisine. How far would we have to go to get to the popular restaurants in the area? Are there any good eating joints within walking distance? the restaurants are not so far and there are plenty of good eating points 3)Any day trips that we can take from Bodrum? Yes you may there are several boat trips organised in the port.( please check my bodrum pages)

Hi Traveloturc,
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I have a few more questions....I have heard that the overnight buses are very comfortable. Do you know the names of the bus companies which run these buses? I tried looking up the webpages of some companies like ulosoy but most of these display their data in Turkish. Is it okay if we book our tickets for the journey after we reach Istanbul or is it the peak season in May? Any restaurants around the resort that you could particularly recommend? We would love to try the local cuisine at an average priced eatery. How close are the restaurants to this resort? What kinds of things can we shop for in Bodrum? Thanking you once more in advance for answering all my queries and hope you dont mind that I may bother you again should I have any more doubts.

hi,
First of all hope I m not late to answer your questions.Lets start with bus companies I recomend you to travel with ulusoy travel as they have the most comfortable busses.Journey takes 12 hours from istanbul to bodrum and they usually depart from istanbul 20:00(pm) they have their own bus station in istanbul which is near to istanbul Ataturk airport you can take a taxi from airport to there, or you can use the underground at airport if u go by underground you have get off at'zeytinburnu station' you will see the UlUSOY bus station across the road...here is the web site of ulusoy travel http://www.ulusoy.com.tr/otobus/bsatis_rezer.asp(ı couldnt find the english version of the site) when you came to bodrum they will drop you at bodrum bus staion where is the center of bodrum u have take a taxi to go dedeman apartments which will cost you around 20 ytl (£7). Hotel located at hills of gumbet town where is very lively in the summer.I don't know when will you come but if you are going to come before mid april you wont be able to find lots of alternatives in gumbet there are few Kebab shops still open in winter. But there are good restaurants in bodrum town where you can taste the local and different cuisine.there public minibuses working between bodrum and gumbet town. There should be one line near to dedeman you can asked to reception about the details. Its the the easiest way to go bodrum from gumbet. There is Bodrum Castle should seen by the Bodrum harbour. There are two or there local travel agencies at bodrum you can book with them ,in this time of year I think they are organising Turkish Bath trip(definetly recomended!),Kos by Ferry(greek ireland kos is only a hour far away from bodrum),we have one of the biggest ancient city of anatolia which is ephesos might be good day out for you its 2 hrs far away from bodrum .. have nice journey

Airport Transfer (driver) depending on how many people are in your party 50 to 90 Lira. Morning Tour can also arrange airport car service. Also the Turkish Bath at the Dedeman is great! :))
