| Milos Island | Suggested accommodation in Adamas Posted: Wed March 14, 2007 04:38 PM UTC
I am organizing my vacations of the next July to Milos and, after varied searches on web sites for how much pertain the lodging, I am undecided between three possible solutions: Seagull apartments or Villa Helios or Zac Marie. There it is someone in a position of to give me an advice? These structures find themselves near noisy disk-bars? Every your advice will be very precious for me.
Thanks and Regards |

Last June I got off the ferry and got a place recommended in Cook's "Greek Island Hopping" at HOtel Semiramis... just about 150 meters off the harborside but it was very quiet because on a little street that branched off a main road. I got a single for 25Euro w. airconditioning, en suite bathroom (tiny) and fridge. ... shared balcony with nice view of trees, good breakfast with unlimited coffee for 3.5E. check rooms first, some may be musty, mine was fine. Owner also has a second hotel a block away, so if he doesn't have room in this one, he has the other. The clubs all seem to be at the waterfront.

Seagull Apartments is on the top of the hill in the residential area of Adamas. The area is generally quiet, even though in July there will be frequent cars passing by the front since there is - inexplicably - a public parking lot nearby.
Villa Helios are very good quality, modern studios with an elevated view of the Adamas harbor, but they are situated directly across the street from the bar "Akri" (AKPH in Greek) and in July, at the height of the tourist season, would be anything but quiet. The noise won't be as much from the tastefully selected music from Akri that is kept at low levels at all times, but from the passers-by, motorcycles and mopeds who tend to park right outside your apartment window. I'm afraid I have no concrete information on Zac Marie at this point. - Andreas

Try Brau Kat travel. Just do a Google search for their web address. They arranged our honeymoon last year with accommodation, car hire and ferry tickets and then again this helped us with interisland bookings. They are great!

Sueshearer,
You are obviously stalking my every forum post on VT to add a shameless plug promoting Braukaut (you do not even know how to spell their name) and you have the nerve to accuse *me* of promoting my own business? How dare you? First of all, Riva Travel is *not* my business! I recommend Riva Travel because they are both a complete service agency (land and marine travel) and offer car rental at www.milosrentacar.gr out of the same office. This is an unbeatable combination as no other agency in Milos can offer all of the above. In addition, they are the only smoke-free travel agency on the island. You are free to recommend Brau-something just as I am free to recommend Riva Travel, whom several people have found to be extremely helpful with *their* budget , *their* honeymoon, and *their* booking. My posts on VT as well as other websites are authoritative and informative, without *ever* promoting my business which is web design, BTW. I have never given the right to anyone to question my motives for posting in the VT forums. My participation on the various forum threads is driven purely out of a sincere desire to help people and provide a service to my native island, always on a volunteer basis. You are the one who is being extremely unfair, superficial and presumptuous. You ought to be ashamed of yourself! Andreas
