We will be staying in Vancouver during August and already have a trip planned to the Okanagan region. Can anybody tell me whether a driving trip down to Wenatchee or Seattle is worth doing before we go up to the Okanagan and if so where we should plan any overnight stops?

Absolutley worth it if you go to Chelan as well as Leavenworth. Absolutley beautiful country with lots of senery to enjoy along the columbia river not to mention a trip to Wenatchee Apple Country.
