| Guernsey | Desperately seeking nice, chic pub with big fire to stay in! Posted: Tue March 13, 2007 08:43 PM UTC
I have never been to Guernsey and am trying to find a lovely chic pub with nice rooms that isn't chintzy and a nice fire if possible (very precise requirement I know!) for a romantic weekend for the May bank holiday. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I know the former Fermain Hotel had a nice fire going, and that accommodation is certainly not chintzy! (I had to look up that word:-)) The place has changed owners, but I'm sure is still classy: http://www.healthspandiscovery.co.uk/hotels/hotel_ If you want more choice, check out: www.kanaaleilanden-accommodatie.startpagina.nl A Dutch site, but all links are English. Enjoy your time in Guernsey and don't forget to visit Herm! BTW, Herm has a lovely hotel as well, certainly good for a romantic weekend! I'll be pitching a tent there myself just after the bank holiday. Can't wait! regards, Marian
