Hello,
i have been here in Luanda for two months now, working as a civil Engineer for a consultancy company. Accomodation is taken care of by the company, however food and drink expenses are not. So may be I can give you an idea of your expenses in terms of food. You will probably need about 500US$ per month on food, If you are someone who enjoys a regular drink then you would have to add to that another 200US$. Going out in the evening to a club will cost you about 20 US$, inclusive in that price is 3 or 4 mini beers. I was working in Ghana before coming here and to be honest I am finding this place a little on the steep side.(EXPENSIVE) The company, and the authority here in Angola insisty on the Yellow Fever innoculation, I got that before flying over. There was no request for either Malaria of Cholera, although it would be wise to get protection against Cholera especially now that it is the rainy season over here. Bring along your anti malarial tablets. The traffic in Luanda is frustrating, bring a book along so you can read while stuck in traffic. All the best, Joe.

hello,
I will do an internship as a french student this summer in luanda at UNDP. I am not paid and i am on a budget(yes it seems to be paradoxal for going in luanda but ....), so if you can help me to find a room even small in luanda it could be perfect, from June 26 to august 28. so allmost for 2 months. Would it be possible to share a place in your accomodations?(sorry but i am trying to see all the possibilities) Thank you best regards Sébastien sebindia@free.fr
