Apparently you can hire bycicles in the car park near Richmond Park's Roehampton Gate (http://www.royalparks.gov.uk/parks/richmond_park/sport.cfm)
It seems a long way off Richmond's train station - I'll be going by public transport from London. Does anyone know if you can hire cycles in Richmond itself (somewhere closer to the tube? (Can't find this info on the web) Many thanks! Gaby |

Note that once you get out of central London, the commuter trains are considerably faster than the tube trains. Take the train from Waterloo station to Barnes.
