Is it possible to book a trips from Taba to places like Luxor or Cairo through agencies other than rip off Brit tour companies?

Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks

At Taba you will not find many local companies offering trips. Maybe the best of the local outfits are Soliman Travel who are in quiet a few of the hotels in the area.

I am biased. Longwood are selling my hotel.

You will find cheaper but Longwood are very good and guests who have stayed at my place have had excellent comments about their tours, especially the Cairo 2 day, 1 night trip and the Petra one day trip by bus and boat. Both trips are very long and tiring but really enjoyed by guests who went on them. For me the most important trip if in the Sinai area would be St Catherine and then White Canyon or Coloured Canyon. If staying two weeks I would look at those four trips and if one week then possibly only St Catherine and also Coloured Canyon. From Taba you are also close to Pharaohs Island with the ruins of Salah el Deen Castle.

I think - travelling without a company is the best way. Read up about Luxor and just get a ticket and go.

If you need to book a hotel room or flat in Luxor (or anything else) I will be happy to recommend some of the places I have stayed in there. been there five times in two years now so feel safe to say I know the place :)

Nopt going to Luxor but going to Taba so that would amke it a tad difficult to follow your advice.

Problem is then-- how do you get to Luxor from Taba?

I don't know Taba very Well but if you take a bus to Sharm, you can fly from Sharm directly to Luxor. :)
